Tried to install the latest courier-imap 4.3.1 and it only goes so far in the install and hangs. Here's the last line in install.log.
Jul 13 17:06:48 mail : run preinstall script for Courier-imap_4.3.1 Noticed in the preinstall script a new user/group Courier is created? I'm not seeing a new directory for /Users/courier so it seems like it's stopping at the directory service lines.
Any ideas?

Or possibly it takes quite a big longer than I expect to chmod, chown, or chgrp my mail dirs? I have over 800 user accounts...

If you're upgrading from an older IMAP version from my installations, you should have a user "Courier" already. It does not require a home. And you should have already both user and group as 100. You could remove the scripts from the "Resource" folder (use show package content). There 4 files called
preupgrade postinstall preinstall postupgrade
that you remove and than do the installation. Just make sure that you have user uid 100 and group gid 100.
What is your current version of IMAP anyway?

There is a rush of upgrades on Courier. Even though I've just posted recently Courier-Authlib 0.60.6, there is already a newer one 0.61.0 out, but I haven't built it yet. There is also Courier-IAMP 4.4.0. I'll post both soon.
